Söderberg & Partners invests in innovative claims handling of EMS
The Swedish company Söderberg & Partners distinguishes itself in the Dutch pension and insurance market with its network of companies that combine personal advice with advanced technology. Söderberg & Partners has now acquired a significant interest in EMS Nederland B.V. as a new step in its long-term strategy to distinguish itself as an innovator in the Dutch insurance market. EMS offers its clients efficient and fully automated handling of insurance claims.
EMS supports insurance companies, brokers and authorized agents in their operations with digital claims solutions. The EMS Claimsengine®, developed by EMS itself, is at the heart of company’s offering. This engine can be connected to existing computer systems of clients. The insured can submit the claim himself or herself at any moment. The EMS Claimsengine® then assesses if the claim is covered by the insurance based on the insured’s policy conditions and subsequently determines the amount of the claim with the use of smart algorithms and artificial intelligence. The end user is notified of the level of the claim benefit within a few minutes. At the same time, the administration system is completely updated. This process optimizes the customer satisfaction for the policyholder and enables claims handlers to focus on claims that require more personal attention.
“In our search for a strategic investor to extend our activities we opted for Söderberg & Partners. They have a clear vision on the insurance industry in which the effective use of technology can make the difference in the competitive battle for the favor of the client. They enable us to fully independently focus on innovation and accelerated growth in the Netherlands and abroad”, say Luigi van Geest and Gerrit Kuiper, who are the general managers of EMS. Founder Carel Kuiper remains as a member of the Advisory Board and will continue to support the general management in this role.
“EMS fits perfectly within our Dutch network”, says Roland Goldman, CEO of Söderberg & Partners Netherlands. “EMS develops innovative software for consumers, insurers, intermediaries and brokers. Until recently, it was not possible to quickly and easily report a claim online. The EMS Claimsengine® makes this possible. Not only current partner companies within our network, but also future partners will be able to benefit from this. Our partnership with EMS is another example of the way in which Söderberg & Partners aims to challenge the current way of working in the Dutch insurance market by combining excellent personal service with smart technology for the benefit of our clients. In its turn, EMS will be able to make good use of the expertise of our other companies in achieving its further growth.”
